Happy Thanksgiving/Merry Christmas!

I've been pretty bad about updating this blog. We're all doing great at the Williams house! Kennedy and Ava are keeping us quite busy these days. They run all over the house and are constantly making us laugh. I honestly can't remember what my life was like without them. It must have been pretty boring! Here are a couple pics from our last trip to the park.

We had a great Thanksgiving with our family. Ava and Kennedy never fail to entertain us all and keep smiles on all of our faces. Can't express how thankful we are to have them!!!

We went and got a Christmas tree with Ang, Jesse and Spencer. They had to leave Noah with Cliff and Heather b/c it was freaking freezing. Because of holiday parties and other things going on, we went the weekend after Thanksgiving. BIG mistake. Our tree was dead at the beginning of this week and we had to take it down before Christmas. Luckily, the girls are too young to get mad at us! Live and learn!

I can't believe that Kennedy and Ava are already spending their second Christmad with Jon, myself and our family. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. Seiously, how could you not fall in love with these sweet little faces???

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family!

One Year Checkups

The girls went to their one year well check this past week. Kennedy is 18 lbs. and 29 inches long, which puts her in the 34th percentile for height and the 6th for weight. Ava is 27 1/2 inches long and 17 lbs. 8 oz which makes her in the 7th percentile for height and the 3rd fro weight. Basically, they're tiny little girls but both are healthy and doing great! They eat like pigs so I'm not sure how they stay so little!

Birthday Girls!

Ava and Kennedy turned ONE on October 2nd! We had a great day with them and close family and friends! I am amazed at how fast this past year went and how much both girls are growing up. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! The last year has been the best year of my entire life and I owe it all to Kennedy, Ava, Jon and my family! Grammy and G-pop are the best grandparents ever! Here are some pics from Kennedy and Ava's big day! Note their hair in the last few pictures. It's greased up with cake and icing...YUM!

Movers and Shakers

It's hard to believe, but Ava and Kennedy are almost a year old! It makes me so sad to know that I'm never going to get that time back but at the same time, it makes me incredibly happy to have experienced their first year with them. I know I'm biased, but they really are two of the most amazing kids in the world. Their personalities are so stinking adorable and I am so lucky to call them my daughters.
People keep asking me what the girls are doing these days...
Aside from the things I already listed in the last post, both girls are doing so many things. Ava loves to bark when you ask her what a doggy says and will moo when we ask her what a cow says. Kennedy makes monkey noises when we ask her what a monkey does, which is quite appropriate for her b/c she really is a little monkey...she LOVES to climb things. They both know where their hair and mouths are and will point to it when we ask them. They will sign for more when they want more to eat or want me to read another story. Ava likes to bring books to me and then back up into my lap until she's sitting on it. SO cute! Oh yeah...and they are WALKING! Both girls started walking on the same day. They had both taken 5-6 steps at a time but never more than that, then one day this week Ava just walked across the living room and not much later, Kennedy was doing the same thing. They haven't stopped since. Both girls are really little for their age so it looks odd to see them walking. They look closer to 8 or 9 months; people are going to think we have little geniuses on our hands.
We're having a family birthday party for Kennedy and Ava next Saturday and I just can't believe it's here already. Hard to believe that I started this blog over a year ago and would sit here typing with my enormous belly, just dreaming of the day my two little girls would be here. Crazy!

Summer Fun

I have to go back to work in about a week and I'm so sad to see my summer with the girls coming to an end. They are such big girls now and it amazes me every day how much they've grown and changed. Ava has become the more aggressive one of the two. She is a little chunkier so she can push Kennedy over quite easily and has no problem doing it. Kennedy is much more sensitive. She gets her feelings hurt easily and is very much a momma's girl lately. I have to say that I kinda like it :)
Both girls are doing so many things now. They both wave and clap. They both put their arms up when you ask them how big they are. They also both give kisses...best thing ever! Kennedy says "dog" or attempts to anyway. She loves playing with Maggie. Ava couldn't care less about the dog. She's content crawling all over Jon and I. She's up and down a thousand times a day! They have been saying mama and dada for a while now but now they actually have figured out that I am mama and Jon is dada. They will both stand on their own for a while but neither has tried taking any steps!
Kennedy and Ava are very attached to Grammy and G-pop. When they are around, the girls are so happy. It's fun to watch! I have to say that Grammy and G-pop look just as happy as the girls when they're with them.
We went to the Loveland bike trail with Ang, Jesse and Spencer. They loved the stroller thingy that hooks onto the bike. They both fell asleep, although I think Kennedy was a little more comfortable than Ava!

9 months!

I can't believe the girls are 9 months old. It's going way too fast!!! They had their 9 month check-ups and are doing great! Both girls weigh 15lbs 6oz and are only in the 4th percentile for weight. Kennedy is 27.5 inches long (50th percentile)and Ava is 25.5 inches long (3rd percentile). Basically, Ava is just really tiny and Kennedy is tall and skinny! They are both into everything and are becoming hard to keep up with. Ava is just as fast as Kennedy now and equally curious about everything around her. They've knocked just about everything over that is in their reach and are not liking being told no. They love to pull themselves up to a standing position and Kennedy has even attempted to stand without holding onto anything. She lasts a few seconds, then falls and looks at us like we were supposed to stop that from happening! They both like table food so far, although Ava is more picky than Kennedy. They're both going through a mommy phase right now. I think they've really gotten used to me being home every day with them and they're becoming quite attached. Letting them cry has been hard, but I know it's the right thing to do if I want them to be healthy, independent little girls!
Jon and I are leaving for Chicago in a week and we're dreading it and looking forward to it at the same time. We've only left the girls once overnight and we came back the next day. We'll be gone for 3 nights this time so I know we'll miss them like crazy! BUT, the trip is much needed and should be a lot of fun!!!

Woo Hoo!

Finally, finally, finally Ava is crawling!!! Thank you God!!! She was beginning to get so frustrated and was getting more and more difficult to make happy! YAHOO!!!!

"Tough love" is tough!

I am loving my time off with the girls and have decided that the summer is going way too fast for my liking! Kennedy and Ava are almost 9 months old now and I can't believe how much they're changing! Kennedy has become a very easy baby. She has always been really good but now that she's crawling, she's so independent. She keeps herself entertained for hours...exploring everything around her. Ava still isn't crawling (although I give her an A for effort) so she's becoming quite frustrated. She sees Kennedy getting the toys that she wants and going wherever her heart desires and that just pisses her off! She has decided that instead of trying to crawl, she's just going to cry for mom. SO, as Kennedy explores, I find myself walking away from Ava so that she realizes that she can't be held all the time. Hearing her cry as I walk away is heartbreaking but I know it's for the best. This tough love stuff is tough!!!!

Summer is here!

I've been done with school for two weeks now and am loving my time at home with Kennedy and Ava. Kennedy is crawling all over the house and requires a lot of energy to keep up with. Ava, God love her, tries so hard to crawl but hasn't figured it out yet. She goes backwards and often gets stuck under the couch. Poor thing. She's definitely working up a sweat trying. Kennedy now has two bottom teeth and looks so cute when she smiles and shows them off. No teeth for Ava yet but she's chewing on everything in sight so I think she'll get them soon! Here are some recent pictures.

Horrible!

Ok, so now that I'm working and have two baby girls that are constantly in need of entertainment, I'm horrible at updating this blog. I will do my best to keep up with it this summer when I have more free time. So much is happening with the girls. They're about 71/2 months old already! Ava sits up completely on her own and has for about a month now. Kennedy is capable of sitting up but is far too hyperactive to sit still for more than a few seconds at a time. She'd much rather be playing with her toys and scooting all over the house. Yep, she's mobile! She's getting faster and faster and I'm sure she'll be hard to keep up with pretty soon. Ava is trying her best to crawl, but can't do it yet. She goes in circles a lot and then gets frustrated and gives up. They are both talking up a storm. They both say mama and dada, although they don't have a clue what they're saying. I like to think that they know but I'm assured that they don't. Ava has become quite the daddy's girl and laughs at everything he says. She's such a happy baby. If we want a smile, all we have to do is hold up the camera and say her name. Her face lights up and she smiles away. Kennedy is very attached to me! She cries when I leave the room and is all about mommy right now. Luckily, it works out that we can both have one and both girls are happy. Unfortunately, I feel like I spend a majority of my time with Kennedy. I love every second with her but there are nights when we put them to bed and I feel like I've hardly had a chance to play with Ava. I'm sure Jon feels the same way with Kennedy. Guess that's just one of the things that moms of twins have to deal with.
Jon and I are still loving parenthood. We've decided that we are definitely not done having kids and can't wait to enjoy all of these firsts again some day. I'm still amazed every day at how great of a dad Jon is to Ava and Kennedy. He's so in love with them! His face just beams when he gets home from work and sees his little girls. If only I had the same effect on him! Ha! Here are some recent pictures of the girlies!

Updates

It's hard to believe it but Kennedy and Ava are 6 months old! They are doing great and are quite possibly the best babies ever! They had their 6 month check up today are are doing really well. Kennedy is 16 pounds and Ava is 15 lbs. 9 oz. So they are really close in weight. Funny thing is that Ava is an inch and a half shorter than Kennedy. She's our short, chunky baby and Kennedy and long and skinny like her daddy. They just keep getting more and more fun! Their new favorite toy is the plastic bag that the diapers come in. Real safe huh? They were laying on the bed one night and we had just opened a new pack of diapers. Kennedy started playing with the bag and before we knew it, they were both squealing and tugging on it. Totally unsafe but they love it! Here's a picture of Kennedy holding the bag...she did NOT want to let go of it!

We took the girls out in the snow last month. My mom's friend had bought them snow suits and we knew they wouldn't fit next year so we put them to good use. We spent a good ten minutes bundling Ava and Kennedy up and all of 5 minutes outside taking pictures of them in the snow. Ava liked it!!! Kennedy was not so happy!

Both girls are so much fun right now. They are rolling all over the place and are enjoying playing together. They both love all of the fruits and veggies that they've been getting and are making a mess on a daily basis.

Jon, the girls and I all had a great Easter with family. Ava and Kennedy were the entertainment for everyone and thoroughly enjoyed being loved on by everyone. They were exhausted by the end of the day.
We can get the girls to laugh with just tickels or being silly but I have to admit that G-pop gets Ava laughing the hardest. She loves him and something about him is really funny to her! Uncle Chad is starting to enjoy the girls more. Don't get me wrong, he's always been a proud uncle but now that Kennedy and Ava can hold their heads up when you hold them, he seems to have more fun with them.
It's so great to see the girls growing up and changing so much! Some days I swear I'm ready for another baby! Am I crazy? I'll answer that...YES! Here are a few recent pictures of the girls!
